Granite Bay
Set between Roseville, California and Folsom Lake is the affluent community of Granite Bay. A residential suburb of Sacramento, Granite Bay is considered one of the area’s best kept secrets. Granite Bay dates back to the early 1850’s, when gold miners settled the area and called it “Granite Bar.” It derives its name from the granite that was quarried from the banks of the bay to be used in the construction of the Folsom Dam. Eventually, the area was taken over by large cattle ranches which were subdivided and sold off in the 1950s for residential development. Since then, it has become an affluent community and Granite Bay is known for its great location, highly rated schools, low crime rate and beautiful natural landscape. The community was officially named Granite Bay in 1987. There have also been many famous people living in Granite Bay, like Eddie Murphy and multiple Sacramento Kings players.
