Much of Arden-Arcade was built between 1945 and 1970, and remains a fine representation of a middle-class mid-century modern community. Arden-Arcade lies within the desirable San Juan Unified School District. Arden-Arcade features lots of great shopping with Country Club Plaza, Arden Fair Mall, Pavilions Shopping Center, Loehmann’s Plaza, and Town & Country Village. Arden-Arcade is also know for its car dealerships with dozens along Fulton Ave.

Historically, Arden-Arcade and neighboring Carmichael were advertised as an excellent area for growing citrus, but olives, nuts and stone fruit were also farmed here. At one time, Arden-Arcade was the hop growing region of the world.
